The birthplace of pedigree members clubs like the Groucho Club and Soho House, London’s poshest acceptance comes at The Arts Club with a history that can be traced back to the 19th Century and patrons that include HRH Prince Philip. Located in a knobby 19th centry townhouse in central Mayfair, a location far more convenient to the truly affluent, Art Clubs features a familiar layout of bistro-style eatery, garden terrace and more formal brasserie open to select members and guests. A library bar and drawing room host some of art, fashion, film and literatures most iconic faces as well as a member roster that once included Dickens, Liszt and Rodin. Following its renovation in 2011 by interior designer David D’Almada, the club added a nightclub as well as a refreshed look and expanded art collection that includes works by John Baldessari and John Stezakar.

The Food

An all-day menu accessible only to members and guests offers a blue blood menu of frog legs with garlic and parsley, smoked eel with apple and incredible octopus eschabeche. Endless caviar, ceviche and raw bar offers are followed-up with homemade rigatoni with truffle or pumpkin risotto. Main course includes cod with mushrooms, suckling pig, calf’s liver and chateaubriand for two.
